My working day
Let me describe my working day.
I am a student of the first year. I study at the Dentistry faculty of the Donetsk National Medical University. Our University is situated not far from the centre of the town. So it is easy to get there from any part of the town.
I usually get up at 6.30 a.m. It is difficult for me to get out of bed because I am not an early riser. If I have a late night I try to have a nap in the afternoon. When I get up I usually air the room, do my morning exercises and make my bed. Then I go to the bathroom and take a shower, brush my teeth and comb my hair.
After that I get dressed and have my breakfast. As a rule I have a cup of tea or coffee and a sandwich for breakfast.
Then I go to the University. Our classes start at 8 o’clock in the morning and last till about 3 o’clock in the afternoon. Usually we have one lecture and three practical classes a day. During our classes we are to wear our doctor’s smocks. Our uniform must be tidy and well-pressed.
In the course of the first year we study many subjects, such as: Anatomy, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Latin, English and some others. My favourite subject is Anatomy. It is very difficult but it is very important for my future profession. I also consider that our English lessons are of great importance because if you know a foreign language you can read special literature and communicate with specialists from different countries.
After classes I often go to the reading hall to read books in my speciality. Then I come home and have dinner. After dinner I have a rest for a couple of hours. According to academician Pavlov the best way of relaxation is the change of the line of work. So in
my spare time I do some work about the house: sweep the floor, dust the furniture and go shopping. Then I do my homework.
In the evening I go for a walk with my friends or stay in and watch TV. Then I have my supper, have a bath and go to bed. Usually I fall asleep at about midnight because I like to read an interesting book in bed.
