Fire Fighting System

The Ka-32 helicopter can be equipped with “Simplex” fire attack system. The system can drop up to 3 ton of water. The helicopter is able to take water without landing at hovering in 1.5 minutes. The system is not critical to reservoir dimensions (minimum required depth is 0.5 meters) and is able to carry out four release modes. Chemical reagents can be added into water and this increases an effect of fire fighting. When the horizontal water gun is installed on the helicopter, it is able to fight fire located in tall buildings. When the vertical water gun installed, the Ka-32 helicopter is able to fill portable plastic reservoirs with water in difficult access areas in order ground fire fighting services will use this water. The Ka-32 helicopter has approved its effectiveness in countries of End-users, such as the South Korea. At present about 40 units of Ka-32 helicopters are operated there for fighting fire in forests.

Police version of Ka 32 used by Moscow Militsia, first flown 21 March 1995; seen in camouflage finish (RA-06144) at Moscow Air Show '95. Seats for 11 passengers, two of whom can operate pintle-mounted guns in port-side rear doorway and starboard rear window.
