The apartment building
Kim lives on the first floor of this building in Broad Street. It's a noisy building from 7:00 to 8:00 every morning because everybody is getting ready for work.
Michael lives alone in a big apartment on the third floor. He's single, and he goes to parties every night, so he wakes up late every morning. He drives to work at 8:00, but he's always late and always in a hurry. His feet make noise on the stairs.
Susan and Paul are a young married couple. They live on the second floor. They leave at 8:00 a.m., too. Susan is a secretary in a small office near her apartment. She walks to work and enjoys the exercise. Paul works at a factory about fifteen miles from their home. He drives a car.
Kim and Don live on the first floor with their two sons, Jason and Todd. They have a car, but Don takes the bus to work. His office is only fifteen-minute bus ride away. Jason and Todd walk to school together. Kim waves good-bye to them.
