Практикувати учнів у вживанні структур непрямої мови, в усних непідготовлених висловлю­ваннях.

Мовний матеріал: Узгодження часів у непрямій мові.

Обладнання: підручник, тематична картина "At the department Store", тематична картина "At the market", тематична картина "Clothes", схеми до теми (див. урок 36), діалог Scrambled dialogue "At the Grocer's" (HO,), діалог Scrambled dialogue "Atthe Department Store" (H0₂), фрази для бесіди з продавцем (Н0₃).

І. ПІДГОТОВКА ДО СПРИЙНЯТТЯ ІНШОМОВНОГО МОВЛЕННЯ

1. Повідомлення теми та мети уроку. Т: The topic of today's lesson is "Department Stores".

That's why you'll practise the target language in unprepared dialogue speech. By the end of the lesson you should be able to carry on a conversation in English on the topic"Doing Shopping at the Department Store". All the suggested activities will increase your ability to speak appropriate English in any situation.

2. Уведення в іншомовну атмосферу.

Sentence Completion Exercise Т — Р_х, Р₂, Р₃.

Give the first part of a sentence. The pupils are free to complete it in any way that

makes grammatical and semantic sense.

T: Take turns to complete those partial sentences I'm giving you, using the lexical

material on the studied topic "Shopping" from p. 55 of your, textbooks.

Sample completion:

We all decided to go to the supermarket.

We all decided to buy tinned fish and tinned meat for tomorrow's outing.

1. Контроль домашнього завдання. Повторення правил узгодження часів у непрямій мові.

Т: We'll check your homework now, and practise making up indirect statements according to the rules of sequence of the tenses studied at the previous lesson (див. схеми уроку 36).

Work in pairs. P_t, read your sentence composed with the word-combinations from

ex. 23, p. 59. Be careful with changing tense forms.

(P,: A short time ago my mum and I went to the department store.)

P₂, reproduce this sentence in indirect speech.

P₂: P_t said that he had gone to the department store with his mother a short time ago.

P₃:1 don't like to buy household items.

P₄: P₃ said that he didn't like to buy household items.

T: Do the same with the sentences from ex. 27, p. 60 translated at home.

P_t: A short time ago my mother bought food in shops. At the market it was very expensive.

P₂: Pj said that a short time ago his mother had bought food in shops, because at the market it had been very expensive.
