  1. Addition and contrast

  1. The food is excellent in that restaurant. It’s very good value as well (too).

  10. The south is hot and dry whereas the north gets a lot of rain. ( two ideas are contrasted in one sentence).

  11. Most big cats such as tigers like to live alone. Lions, however, spend a lot of time in groups.
