•TheMFbatteryusedinthisvehicledoesnotrequiremainte•nance(e.g.,electrolytelevelinspection,distilledwaterreplen•ishment).

•Duringnormalcharging,nohydrogengasisproduced.How•ever,ifthebatteryisovercharged,hydrogengasmaybepro•duced.Therefore,besuretherearenofireorsparksources(e.g.,shortcircuit)nearbywhenchargingthebattery.

•Besuretorechargethebatteryinawell-ventilatedandopenarea.

•NotethatthechargingsystemfortheMFbatteryisdifferent

fromthatofaconventionalbattery.DonotreplacetheMF

batterywithaconventionalbattery.

CONNECTINGTHEBATTERY

•Whendisconnectingterminalsfromthebatteryfordisassem•

blyorservicing,besuretodisconnectthe2batteryleadwire,first.

•Whenconnectingthebatteryleadwires,besuretoconnectthe•:£'batteryleadwire.first.

•Iftheterminaliscorroded,removethebattery,pourwarmwateroveritandcleanitwithawirebrush.

•Afterconnectingthebattery,applyalightcoatofgreasetothebatteryterminals.

•Installthecoveroverthe(±)batteryterminal.

WIRINGPROCEDURE

•Properlyroutethewireharnessaccordingtothe"WIREROUT•ING"section.(c::::7'8-14to8-15)

USINGTHEMULTICIRCUITTESTER

•ProperlyusethemulticircuittesterOand8probes.Improperusecancausedamagetothemotorcycleandtester.

•Ifthevoltageandcurrentvaluesarenotknown,beginmea•

suringinthehighestrange.

•Whenmeasuringtheresistance,makesurethatnovoltageisapplied.Ifvoltageisapplied,thetesterwillbedamaged.

•Afterusingthetester,besuretoturntheswitchtotheOFF

position.
