TIREANDWHEEL

TIREREMOVAL

Themostcriticalfactorofatubelesstireisthesealbetweenthewheelrimandthetirebead.Forthisreason,itisrecommendedtouseatirechangerthatcansatisfythissealingrequirementandcanmaketheoperationefficientaswellasfunctional.

Foroperatingprocedures,refertotheinstructionssuppliedbythetirechangermanufacturer.

NOTE:

Whenremovingthetireinthecaseofrepairorinspection,markthetirewithachalktoindicatethetirepositionrelativetothevalveposition.

Eventhoughthetireisrefittedtotheoriginalpositionafterrepairingpuncture,thetiremayhavetobebalancedagainsincesucharepaircancauseimbalance.

Inspection

WHEELINSPECTION

Wipethewheelcleanandcheckforthefollowing:

•Distortionandcrack

•Nickorscratchonbead

•Wheelrimrunout(c:::::T"6-13)

TIREINSPECTION

Tiremustbecheckedforthefollowingpoints:

•Nickandruptureonsidewall

•Threadremainingdepth(c:::::T"2-25)

•Separationofcord

•Abnormal,unevenwearontread

•Surfacedamageonbead

•Localizedtreadwearduetoskidding(Flatspot)

•Abnormalconditionofinnerliner

Valveinspection

Inspectthevalveafterthetireisremovedfromtherim.Replacethevalvewithanewoneifthesealrubberispeelingorhasdam•age.

NOTE:

Iftheexternalappearanceofthevalveshowsnoabnormalcon

dition,removingofthevalveisnotnecessary.

Inspectthevalvecore.

Ifthesealhasabnormaldeformation,replacethevalvewithanewone.

Valveinstallation

Anydustorrustaroundthevalveholemustbecleanedoff.Theninstallthevalveintherim.

NOTE:

Toproperlyinstallthevalveintothevalvehole,applyaspecialtirelubricantorneutralsoapyliquidtothevalve.

ACAUTIONI

Becarefulnottodamagethelipofvalve.

TIREINSTALLATION

•Applytirelubricanttothetirebead.

•Wheninstallingthetireontothewheel,observethefollowingpoints.

IACAUTIONI

Donotreusethevalvewhichhasbeenonceremoved.

IACAUTIONI

Neveruseoil,greaseorgasolineonthetirebeadinplaceoftirelubricant.

•Wheninstallingthetire,thearrowG)onthesidewallshouldpointtothedirectionofwheelrotation.

•Alignthechalkmarkputonthetireatthetimeofremovalwith

thevalveposition.

•Forinstallationprocedureoftireontothewheel,followthein•

structionsgivenbythetirechangermanufacturer.

•Bouncethetireseveraltimeswhilerotating.Thismakesthetirebeadexpandoutwardtocontactthewheel,therebyfacilitatingairinflation.

•Pumpupthetirewithair.

AWARNING

*Donotinflatethetiretomorethan400kPa(4.0kgf/cm2).Ifinflatedbeyondthislimit,thetirecanburstandpossiblycauseinjury.Donotstanddirectlyoverthetirewhileinflating.

careforthesetpressureadjustment.

•Inthiscondition,checkthe"rimline"castonthetiresidewalls.Thelinemustbeequidistantfromthewheelrimallaround.Ifthedistancebetweentherimlineandwheelrimvaries,thisindicatesthatthebeadisnotproperlyseated.Ifthisisthecase,deflatethetirecompletelyandunseatthebeadforbothsides.Coatthebeadwithlubricantandfitthetireagain.

•Whenthebeadhasbeenfittedproperly,inflateairandadjust

thepressuretospecification.

•Asnecessary,adjustthetirebalance.

Donotrunwitharepairedtireatahighspeed.

BALANCERWEIGHT

•Wheninstallingthebalancerweightstofrontwheel,setthetwobalancerweightsonbothsidesofwheelrim.

IACAUTIONI

Weightdifferencebetweenthetwobalancerweightsmustbelessthan10g.
