SECONDARYTHROTTLECONTROLSYSTEM
Thesecondarythrottlecontrolsystem(STCsystem)consistsofthesecondarythrottlevalve(STvalve),secondarythrottlevalveactuator(STVactuator)andsecondarythrottlepositionsensor(STPsensor).
STvalveisinstalledineachthrottlebody.STVactuatorandSTPsensorareinstalledontherightsideofthethrottlebodyassembly.TheSTvalveisturnedbytheSTVactuator.
Thissystemisdesignedtocontrolthevolumeandthevelocityofintakeairsoastoimproveengineoutputpower.Thesystemproducesmoreseamlessandlinearthrottleresponse.
Thisisperformedbyopeningorclosingthethrottlebodyintakeportaccordingtothegearpositionsandenginerpm.
Whentheengineisrunninginalowspeedrange,theintakeportisalmostclosedforcontrolledintakeairvolume.Thisimprovestheeffecttointakeairflowpulsationsothattheenginecanoutputhigherpowerinthisspeedrange.
Astheenginespeedgrowsfaster,theintakeportaregraduallyopenforguidingthepropervolumeofair
intothethrottlebodiessothattheenginecanproducethemaximumpowerineachspeedrange.

(STV)
Secondarythrottlevalveactuator(STVA)
OPERATION
Thesecondarythrottlecontrolsystem(STCsystem)operatesonthesignalsuppliedfromtheECM.Theopen/closeoperationofthesecondarythrottlevalve(STvalve)isperiormedbythesecondarythrottlevalveactuator(STVactuator)whichiscontrolledbytheSTCunittochangethecurrentdirectionintothemotoroftheSTVactuator.
TheSTPsensordetectstheSTVactuatormovementbymeasuringvol1ageandtheECMdeterminesthe
STvalveanglebasedontheoperationmap.
WhenturningtheignitionswitchON,everytimetheSTVactuatorautomaticallydrivestheSTvalveandchecksfullycloseandopenpositionvoltageandreturntooriginalpositiontoconfirmeachSTvalvepositionvoltage.
