N: We’ve gone through the technical data and seen your Valtra S353 in operation. The machine seems good to us.
S: Yes, the machine is really good. Its capacity is much higher than the capacity of similar models.
N: Yes, it is. Yet the price, you are quoting, is rather high, could you revise it?
S: I’m afraid that will hardly be possible. I think you know that prices of raw materials have gone up lately. Yet, I’ll look into the matter and see what we can do. How many machines are you going to buy?
N: If we agree on the price we could buy 6 machines for delivery in 3 lots. Could you guarantee prompt delivery of the first lot?
S: Well, we could ship them say… two months after the order is signed.
N: That’s fine. I believe your terms of payment remain the same as under our previous contract, don’t they?
S: Yes, that’s right, there’s no change.
N: What’s your guarantee period?
S: 24 months after dispatch. It goes without saying you should strictly observe our operation and maintenance instructions.

1. offer without obligation – предложение без обязательства. Если предложение делается продавцом без обязательства с его стороны, это означает, что продавец имеет право предложить данный товар нескольким покупателям, а также продать его, не дожидаясь ответа покупателя.
В отличие от предложения без обязательства, твёрдое предложение (a firm offer) делается только одному покупателю, и продавец не имеет права продать данный товар в течение определённого срока. Этот срок, как правило, оговаривается в выданной оферте.
