Work #1
1. Life
2. Show the purpose of life, nothing can be endless unfortunately.
3. Roller coaster represents the life time and also fun moments of life, the cabin with people actually shows us, the people who are living their lives. A sun also represent relaxing and enjoying of living. Birds and clouds just show the nature around us. Colours are chosen in purpose to make the 5 copies and show the variety of different printmakers.
4. a) Paper, acrylic colours.
b) Firstly, I used paper to make a sketches and organize my ideas, then I planned how I will order my small pictures on the linoleum, then I started to cut it. When I finished cutting, I started to paint it with acrylics and roller on the table to create printmaking. After this I put my linoleum upside down on the paper and press it hard so it can convert on the paper.
c) The main problem for me was to cut the linoleum, because it was hard material and i had to warm it up a little bit with a lighter to make it softer. Rest of the process was pretty easy.
5. I got some expression problems when I was planning. I had to be creative, and actually I’ve got a good idea how to show the expression but unfortunately i couldn’t realize it because of my lack of art skills.
6. The main inspiration for me was my life situations. I had a great time a few years ago and i thought that it would be like this for the rest of my life, but life has changed and once i faced problems. My experience was the only motivation to draw it.
7. I would be more careful with cutting linoleum, because twice i cut myself. I would also add grass or some kind of background to make the picture more interesting.
8. I am really satisfied, because I get the main idea of perfectness of life.
9. Someone said that he agrees with this expression.
Work #2
1. “Pure Beauty“
2. Show the pure beauty in uncommon way.
3. By creating this gargoyle I show that art is more than just painting nature or portraits of people. I show that art can be different and very interesting. I personally found very relaxing working with a clay.
4. a)clay, acrylics.
b) Firstly i watched a video in the museum about history of gargoyles. Secondly, i got a tutorial from the professional how to make it. And finally i started to create my own gargoyle. I planned proportions of my “lady” and then I started to actually sculpt it. After that, I gave it to museum and they fired it. After approximately a week we picked them up and in class i painted with bright colours.
c) It took me a long time to put hair on her head because they were so thin and vulnerable so i was afraid to break them. The proportions were not perfect but it was made on purpose.
5. The main difficulty i faced is little particles that she has on her body, such as nipples and eyes. It wasn’t so easy to put them together with the whole gargoyle.
6. I was motivated by African women who are considered beautiful in African culture but not everywhere, because their opinion on “what is beauty?” is quite different from others people opinion. I personally respect their view on this question and think that African culture is unique and interesting.
7. I would change the colours a little bit, maybe instead of yellow i would use light green.
8. 10 out of 10. I created an art work that shows everything i tried to bring to viewer. I’m satisfied with it.
9. My mom said it is very interesting and not common. When i showed it to my friend, Grisha, he couldn’t believe that i made this gargoyle, it means that he liked it.
Work#3
1. Egor.
2. Show the proportions of human body.
3. I showed my classmate named Egor.
4. a) paper, grey pencil.
b) Firstly I did a sketch of his body, then I started to add some specific details such as title on his t-shirt and watch on his hand. Finally I did shading with my fingers.
c) I faced with problem of drawing his legs. I think I already mentioned that I don’t like drawing body, so I couldn’t find the right angle to make his legs look real.
5. I didn’t really have any expression problems because the topic was pretty clear, i had to choose one of my classmates and draw him.
6. Actually I was inspired by Egor because he told me that it’s ok if I wouldn’t draw him perfectly.
7. I would like to redraw his legs and also arms.
8. I’m not 100% satisfied, because this work is actually represents my weakness in art, humans body.
9. Egor laughed at this work but he said that is not that bad.
