Тема. Контроль навичок аудіювання. Текст “About Boxing”

Мета: - проконтролювати рівень сформованості навичок аудіювання;

- навчити учнів самостійному виконанню вправ тестового характеру, правильному вибору комунікативних завдань;

- розвивати учнівську спостережливість, елементи креативного мислення, аналізу та самоаналізу;

- виховувати увагу, спостережливість, уміння чітко виконувати інструкції вчителя.

а) Аудіювання тексту. Опрацювання незнайомої лексики:

Boxing is an sport going back to the days of ancient Greece where it was an important part of the Olympic Games.

The Olympics were help during the hottest part of summer and the boxers were rubbed with oil to limit perspiration. Their hands were with heavy leather strips often loaded with lead or iron. So fighters were often maimed for life. There were no rounds and no time limit – the men fought until one of them conceded defeat.

The sport passed from Greece to Rome but after the fall of Rome it was unknown in Europe until the 18^th century. James Figg introduced gloveless fighting in England and opened a boxing school in London. He built an amphitheater with a square space roped off for the fighters. Figg didn’t believe in rest periods and a fight continued without stop until one man had obviously won.

Мета: - проконтролювати рівень знань, умінь та навичок учнів з читання з вивчених протягом семестру тем;

- навчити учнів самостійному виконанню тестів, правильному вибору комунікативних завдань, реально оцінювати рівень власних знань;

- прищеплювати повагу до вивчення іноземних мов, розвивати елементи логічного і аналітичного мислення при виконанні контрольних тематичних завдань.

Text “A new Flat”

A merry young man who earned his living as a drummer in a band, had lust married and he and his wife were looking for somewhere to live. They saw a lot of places but there was always something that one of them didn’t like about the places. At last they found a house which both of them really liked. But they couldn’t decide whether they should take one of the ground-floor flats or one of the upstairs ones.

At last they decide on an upstairs one – not too low down and not too high up – and moved in. Then they gave a big party to celebrate their setting.

It was a merry and noisy party as all his friends from the band came and played their instruments. The guests danced, sang and practiced on the drums. After a time telephone rang. The young man’s wife went into the hall to answer it. Then she came back with a happy smile on her face and said, “That was the man who has just moved into flat that is under out flat. I am so glad we decide not to choose it. He says it is terribly noisy down there.”
