Тема. Контроль усного мовлення за Ι семестр

Мета: - перевірити рівень учнівських знань, умінь та навичок з читання по вивчених

протягом семестру темах;

- навчити учнів самостійному виконанню завдань тестового характеру, правильному вибору комунікативних завдань, реально оцінювати рівень власних знань;

- прищеплювати повагу до навчання, розвивати елементи логічного і аналітичного мислення при виконанні контрольних тематичних завдань.

a) The pupils are given cards with the numbers of the topics. They are taking the cards in turns and preparing oral reports on the topic they have chosen, the topics for discussion are:

1) English as a multicultural language

2) Forms of medicine people use

3) English national cuisine

4) Genetics and various medical problems

5) Your personal reasons for learning English

6) Great inventions : ice – cream

7) Pen pals: who are they/

8) Your daily exercises for keeping fit

9) Ukrainian traditional cuisine

10) Modern means of communication

11) The origin of the term sandwich

12) Interest clubs or groups in your school

13) Your favourite meals

14) Computers: great helpers or enemies?

15) Convenience food

16) The humans and virus infections

17) The origin of international words in English

18) Your own recipe of any dish you like

19) The famous people in the field of medicine.

Note: the pupils of lower learning abilities have to pronounce only some separate words or word combinations instead of making an oral report on the chosen topic.

Тема. Тематичне оцінювання №3 “Медицина. Здоровий спосіб життя”

Мета: - перевірити рівень набутих знань, умінь та навичок з усного та писемного мовлення з вивченої теми;

- перевірити вміння будувати речення, повідомлення, викладати думки в логічній послідовності;

- прищеплювати повагу до навчання, індивідуальних та колективних думок однокласників, почуття згуртованості та колективізму;

- розвивати елементи логічного мислення, аналізу та самоаналізу.

a) Audition of the story “The Doctor’s Help”:

There was a bookseller in a small English town who didn’t like to spend his money. One day a big box of books fell down and hurt his foot.

“Go to the doctor”, said his wife, “and show that foot to him”. “No”, he said. “I shall wait until the doctor comes into the shop next time. Then I shall ask him what to do about my foot. If I go to see him I shall have to pay him.”

The next day the doctor came into the shop and bought some books. As the bookseller was wrapping up the books he told the doctor about his bad foot. The doctor looked at it.

“Yes,” said the doctor, “you must put that foot in hot water every night. Then you must put some ointment on it.”

He took out a piece of paper and wrote a prescription on it. “Buy this and put it on the foot before you go to bed every night.” “Thank you,” said the bookseller, “and now, sir, here are your books.”

“How much?” said the doctor.

“Two pounds.”

“Good,” said the doctor, “I won’t need to pay you anything.”

“Why not?” asked the bookseller in surprise.

“You asked me to look at your foot. I did so and wrote out a prescription. If people come to my house I ask them to pay one pound for a small thing like that. But when I go to their houses I want two pounds. And I came here, didn’t I ?”

b) Level A: write down the Ukrainian translation of the story.

c) Level B: write down the Ukrainian translation of the story and do the following test:

─ There was a bookseller who liked to spend his money.

─ One day a big heap of books fell down and hurt his head.

+ He waited for the doctor to come to his bookshop next time.

+ The bookseller told the doctor about his bad foot.

─ The doctor took the books and paid for them.

+ The doctor said that he would not need to pay.

d) Level C: translate the following sentences :

У маленькому англійському місті жив продавець книг, який не любив витрачати гроші.

Він каже, що зачекає, коли лікар сам прийде до книгарні.

Якщо я піду до лікаря, то я буду змушений йому заплатити.

Лікар оглянув ногу, назвав ліки і виписав продавцеві рецепт.

Продавець дуже здивувався, що лікар не заплатив за покупку книжок.

Коли я відвідую своїх пацієнтів, я беру за це два фунта.

Якщо пацієнти приходять до мене, то вони платять один фунт за таку дрібницю.

e) Level D: write down the composition / report “The Doctor Help.”
