Учебно-методическое пособие «Английский язык в профессиональной коммуникации» направлено на обучение студентов неязыковых высших педагогических учебных заведений практическому владению языком специальности «Математика», «Информатика» для активного применения английского языка в профессиональной деятельности. Практическое владение языком специальности предполагает также умение работать со специальными текстами на английском языке с целью получения профессиональной информации. Система упражнений способствует усвоению текстового материала и закреплению активной профессиональной лексики.
Данное пособие предназначено для студентов 2 курсов факультетов математики и информатики и разработано с учетом грамматического и лексического материала, изучаемого в курсе английского языка в неязыковых высших учебных заведениях.

Предисловие
Данное учебно-методическое пособие предназначено для студентов 2 курсов неязыковых высших учебных заведений педагогических специальностей по направлениям подготовки «Математика», «Информатика».
В пособии рассматриваются вопросы выбора будущей профессии, построения карьеры, в частности, большое внимание уделяется педагогической деятельности, профессии учителя. Формирование и развитие навыков устной речи происходит в различных видах речевой деятельности через выполнение творческих заданий, предполагающих индивидуальные, парные и групповые виды работ.
Особая роль отведена практическому овладению студентами языком специальности посредством работы с профессионально-ориентированными текстами, изучение которых направлено на развитие навыков чтения, навыков работы с вокабуляром; извлечение и обработку информации. Упражнения включают фрагменты текста и отдельные предложения, предназначенные для подстановки, заполнения пробелов, перевода с английского языка на русский и т.д.
Цель учебно-методического пособия – развить у студентов коммуникативные способности в области педагогики, расширить спектр знаний по специальности и закрепить базовую профессиональную терминологию.
Особая задача данного пособия – научить студентов извлекать из текстов определенную информацию с нужной степенью полноты и точности, а также научить студентов анализировать представленную информацию, используя фразы-опоры.
Представленный в пособии материал позволяет получить не только углубленные знания в английском языке по определенной тематике, но и овладеть основами математической и компьютерной грамотности.
Предлагаемое пособие составлено в соответствии с требованиями программы обучения иностранному языку в неязыковом вузе и имеет ярко выраженную профессиональную направленность, которая проявляется в тематике текстов и заданий.
