The main parts of the aircraft are: fuselage, engines, wings, tail unit and landing gear. The fuselage is the body of the airplane. It houses the crew, passengers, controls, equipment, baggage, mail and cargo. The fuselage is divided into several cabins. A nose cabin is a cockpit. Passenger cabin accommodates passengers. The rear part of the fuselage is called a baggage compartment. It is designed for cargo.
The wings are the main lifting surfaces which support the aircraft in flight. The tail unit provides the necessary stability in flight. The undercarriage is used during taxiing of the airplane on the ground during take-off and landing. The retractable landing gear is retracted in flight into the fuselage structure.

On most flights, seats are allocated to passengers at the check-in desk. The seat number is often recorded on the passenger's boarding pass.
Seats are numbered in rows from the nose of the aircraft to the tail and lettered from the right to the left as you look back from the flight deck.
Note that most seat allocation problems involve the cabin attendant requesting the passengers' boarding cards. There are several ways of doing this:

Baggage – is a passenger’s personal property that he takes with him in a trip. The British term for baggage is luggage. Baggage can be divided into 3 categories: hand luggage, which the passenger keeps with him in the passenger’s cabin of the aircraft, checked baggage, which is carried in the baggage compartment of the same airplane on which the passenger is travelling, and unaccompanied baggage, which is carried in some other airplane that the one on which passenger is travelling.
General layout.
Many people like travelling. The most convenient means of travelling is an airplane. Passengers can travel first class, business class and economy class. That is why the airplane is divided into two, three or four passenger cabins, which are called the first class cabin, the business class cabin and the economy class cabin. The first class cabin is the smallest, but the most comfortable.
The cabin window has a blind which serves as a light filter in sunny weather. The passenger cabins are provided with lighting system: general, dim, emergency and individual lighting. The passenger chair is very comfortable and has all necessary comfort features including a reclining seatback, a pushbutton to fix the seatback in a comfortable position, folding armrests, a tray-table, a seat pocket for small items, a disposable headrest cover, a foot-step for a First Class flight passenger. Each class can be distinguished by the size of the seats and the distance between them.

Cabin attendants’ duties.
Flights start at the airport with the captain’s briefing. The captain is informed of the weather conditions and the passengers.
The crew members are also briefed. CAs are also informed of the weather. CAs are instructed how to deal with the passengers if the weather is bad and their flight is delayed or diverted to an alternate. If there are bad weather conditions in flight they have some problems due to turbulence and then they reassure their passengers. Passengers are comforted by CAs. CAs are informed if there are any important persons (VIP), who are very important politicians, religious leaders or the most famous people in arts or sports, or commercial important persons – executives of other airlines. Then a special form of address is required. They take special care of such passengers. Some special announcements are made during the flight. Special congratulations are announced for very famous sport teams. The CAs are briefed if some passengers have special requirements – special meals for religious or health reasons. Disabled or ill passengers require some special seating arrangements. If there are some unaccompanied minors they board before the other passengers. CAs take special care of unaccompanied minors as they are responsible for their travel.
The CAs board the aircraft before the passengers as they perform a number of their duties both before the passengers board and during boarding. All movable safety equipment is checked: drugs, kits, first aid kits, life vests, fire extinguishers, oxygen masks, smoke hoods, escape slides, fire axes, megaphone. All these are used in an emergency.
The CAs check doors, aisles, the position of stairs and air bridge for safety. They check all food and drinks equipment and stores.
Then the CAs perform their duties when the passengers are on board, they make announcements. A passenger head-count is made for reasons of security. The CAs are responsible for the closing the doors and they contact the captain through the purser.

Toilets on plans, especially on long-haul flights, are often the subject of complaints by the travelling public. They say they are often dirty, uncared, not cleaned for hours, with doors that don’t close properly, lights that don’t work, and there aren’t enough of them, with endless queues especially before landing. Try to imagine the panic when all ten toilets on board were completely blocked. Unbelievable but true…
This happened on a Cathay Pacific flight from Riyadh to Hong Kong. All of the ten toilets on board the Airbus plane became blocked after take-off. Passengers wandered from one toilet to the other until the truth became obvious. There was chaos on board, with passengers demanding a rapid solution. The cabin crew’s job to make passengers comfortable suddenly became impossible. When the captain made an announcement that he was going to make an unscheduled landing at the nearest international airport, there was a relief on board. The flight landed in Mumbai.

THE FLIGHT CREW
The flight crew are the men and the women who work in an aircraft when it is flying from one city to another. They can be divided into two groups – those who fly the aircraft and those who work with the passengers. The first group consists normally of two or more people. They are the captain and the co-pilot, sometimes there is one more member in the flight deck team and it is a flight engineer. There may be a navigator and a radio-operator, too.
THE CABIN CREW
The people who work in the cabin with the passengers are called the cabin crew. The senior member of the cabin crew is called the purser. Those who work under the senior member of the cabin crew are called stewards or stewardesses by the public, but they should be correctly called cabin attendants or CA’s for short.
CREW MEMBERS AND THEIR DUTIES
The captain’s command begins as soon as he enters the aircraft to carry out a flight. The captain must look after the safety of his aircraft. He is to make correct decisions in difficult weather or any troubles which may happen. He is responsible for flight documentation and pre-flight preparations. The Captain has always to take care of the comfort of his passengers. This is the most important thing after the safety of the aircraft. He must keep to his schedule as closely as possible.
The navigator must know the route very well. He determines the wind direction and the wind speed. He determines the course of the aircraft and its position. He is responsible for navigation. He is a great help to the Captain.
The flight engineer works both in the air and on the ground. Before the flight he must make an inspection of the aircraft. During the flight he watches the engine instruments. The radio-operator is responsible for radio communication.
All the members of the crew have to be in cockpit except the CA’s. They may enter the cockpit but mostly they are in the passenger cabin. The CA’s must check all catering aboard. They serve food and drinks. They take care of the passengers on board during the flight. They show them how to use seat belts at take-off and landing. They should also help passengers if they get airsick. They must do their best to make the journey comfortable. The cabin crew answers for the safety of an aircraft in flight and for the safety and comfort of passengers.

DEAF passenger briefing (in case of an emergency)
Sir/miss, this is an emergency! Due to ... we have to make an emergency landing (ditching). The passenger, sitting next to you, will help you to be prepared for the emergency landing(ditching) and will assist you to evacuate from the aircraft. Follow his instructions.
To PSP who will assist a deaf passenger:

Survival kit.
Survival kit is stowed together with each slide/raft. Survival kits have to be taken from board also after emergency landing in unpopulated regions. It contains of bailing bucket, hole plug, sea dye marker, signal day/night, tablets/water purification, whistle, pen knife, first aid kits, water activating flashlights, sponge dehydrated.
