The common cold is the world's most common illness, which is probably why there are more myths about it than any of the other plagues that flesh is heir to. You may certainly feel (2) …not… comfortable if you go out in winter with wet hair, but you won't be any (3) …less.. susceptible to rhinoviruses, which are the true cause of colds. (4) …But. ,you will catch a cold more easily by (5) …get……. in close proximity to others infected(6) …by… the virus. The reason why we (7) ...tend... to catch more colds in winter is because we (8) …turn... up the heating and close the windows. The resulting poor ventilation and higher relative humidity can (9) …lead… to easier transmission of the cold virus. The Inuit of the Arcticregions, however, (10) …proove….. living in inhospitable conditions, rarely catchcolds. In fact, you are more likely to suffer (11) ..from.. hypothermia(12) …than…. you are over-exposed to cold temperatures.
Numerous scientific studies have found no correlation (13) …with… lowerbody temperatures and susceptibility to colds. Conversely, studies seem to(14) …agree.. that psychological stress, allergic disorders, poor diet and aweaker immune system can (15) ..make… a person susceptible to colds.
