Treating method for suppressing hair growth

The invention claimed is:

1. A method of inhibiting hair growth comprising administering to a surface of skin in need thereof an effective amount of a plant extract of the genus Juniperus, or a malt selected from the group consisting of rye malt, and oat malt; or a mixture thereof; wherein said plant extract is an extract of a solvent selected from the group consisting of water, an alcohol and mixtures thereof.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein said plant extract is present in an amount of 0.00001 to 50 weight percent (wt %).

3. The method as recited in claim 1, wherein said plant extract is an extract of a plant from the family Juniperus selected from the group consisting of Juniperus communis, Juniperus virginiana L., Juniperus morrisonicola Hayata, and Juniperus formosana Hayata.

4. The method as recited in claim 1, wherein said plant extract is an extract of a portion of said Juniperus plant extract selected from leaves and fruit portions thereof.

5. The method as recited in claim 3, wherein said plant extract is an extract of a portion of said Juniperus plant extract selected from leaves and fruit portions thereof.

6. The method as recited in claim 3, wherein said plant extract is an extract of Juniperus communis or Juniperus virginiana L.

7. The method as recited in claim 1, wherein said solvent is aqueous alcohol.

2. A plant of soybean variety 4551757, wherein a sample of seed of said variety has been deposited under ATCC Accession No. PTA-9041.

3. A plant part of the plant of claim 2.

4. The plant part of claim 3, further defined as pollen, an ovule or a cell.

5. A tissue culture of regenerable cells of soybean variety 4551757, wherein a sample of seed of said variety has been deposited under ATCC Accession No. PTA-9041.

6. The tissue culture of claim 5, wherein the regenerable cells are from embryos, meristematic cells, pollen, leaves, roots, root tips, anther, pistil, flower, seed, boll or stem.

7. A soybean plant regenerated from the tissue culture of claim 5, wherein the regenerated soybean plant expresses all of the physiological and morphological characteristics of the soybean variety 4551757, wherein a sample of seed of said variety has been deposited under ATCC Accession No. PTA-9041.

8. A method of producing soybean seed, comprising crossing a plant of soybean variety 4551757 with itself or a second soybean plant, wherein a sample of seed of said variety has been deposited under ATCC Accession No. PTA-9041.

9. The method of claim 8, further defined as a method of preparing hybrid soybean seed, comprising crossing a plant of soybean variety 4551757 with a second soybean plant, wherein the second soybean plant is a distinct soybean plant, and wherein a sample of seed of said variety has been deposited under ATCC Accession No. PTA-9041.
