When we see or hear the word "business", we think first of all not of different shops, factories or mines, but of offices. Modern business is done there, and a day of a modern businessman is a day spent at an office. That is probably why business people pay so much attention to the way their offices look like.
It is usually situated in a large or not very large well-planned building somewhere in the center or in a prestige district of the city. How large the office itself is depends on the size of the firm, which the businessman owns. But in any case it should be light and clean and there must be expensive and comfortable furniture of good quality. One more very important thing is the air. It should always be fresh and neither hot nor cold. For this purpose a lot of modern businessmen use various types of air conditioners.
Office work usually means different forms of communication. A businessman often needs to speak to other people and he can do this by using the telephone, which is an important part of the communications system. The head of a large firm usually has two telephones on his desk. One is a usual telephone, which connects the businessman with other people in the town and in other countries. But the other one is connected to a private internal system and this makes it possible for members of the staff in different parts of the same building to talk to one another without leaving their rooms. A mobile phone is also a thing every businessman always has today.
A businessman also communicates by writing. But he doesn't write his letters himself, he dictates them to his secretary, usually a woman, who types them on a typewriter or with the help of a computer, and then takes them to be signed. After that the letters are posted or (which is more common nowadays) sent using fax. Thus we can say for sure that different technical means and equipment like personal computer, fax, Xerox, printer etc., occupy a considerable part of the office interior.
And of course speaking about offices of any kind we shouldn't forget the person, who actually organizes the work there, who arranges meetings, makes appointments, cancels them, does most of the paper work and answers telephone calls thus helping her boss in his business.
Напишите по-английски ответы на следующие вопросы:

London and finance
London, the capital of the United Kingdom, is the political, cultural, commercial, industrial and financial centre of the country. At the same time London is one of the world's financial capitals. The business centre of London is the City, where numerous banks, various exchanges, insurance offices, shipping and other companies have their head offices.
At the heart of the City is the London Stock Exchange where millions of shares and securities are traded daily. There are stock exchanges in several other cities of the United Kingdom but the London Stock Exchange is the most important. The London Stock Exchange offers the largest range and number of securities quoted on any Stock Exchange in the world. In volume of business it ranks third to New York and Tokyo.
London is also the headquarters of many prominent international banking and insurance companies which deal in foreign shares, insurance and bonds and handle English investments in other countries.
The central feature of government finance is the Bank of England, founded under a royal charter as a private company in 1694 to provide loans to the Government. It was nationalized in 1946 by Act of Parliament. The Bank of England is the country's national bank, it carries out government monetary policies and acts as the "banker's bank" for privately owned banks. Most domestic banking operations of the United Kingdom are carried on by commercial banks. The main commercial banks are Lloyds Bank, Barclays Bank, Midland Bank and National Westminster Bank, often referred to as "the Big Four".
