Запомните правило:
Мы можем использовать слова-связки use and, but и or для соединения двух простых предложений
E.G.: I wake up at 7.00 and I switch on the radio.
Мы используем слово-связку but для противопоставления.
e.g.: I wake up at 7.00 but I don’t get up till 7.15.
мы используем для альтернативы:
e.g.: In the afternoons Leo watches TV or goes out.
Употребляя and и or мы можем опустить употребление подлежащего перед вторым сказуемым, если оно аналогично подлежащему первого глагола e.g.: I wake up at seven and I switch on the radio.
In the afternoons Leo watches TV or Leo goes out.
Когда у нас несколько глаголов мы употребляем их через запятую.
e.g.: I get up. I go downstairs. I make my breakfast.
I get up, go downstairs and make my breakfast.

Обратите внимание на данные примеры с because и so.
e.g.: John had to go to the airportб so he got up early.
Мы можем соединять простые предложения между собой с помощью этих слов-связок, причем because - указывает на причину, а so - на следствие
e.g.: John got up early because he had to go to the airport.
Внимательно присмотритесь к следующим словам-связкам because и although.
because – указывает на причину, а although – на неожиданное противопоставление..
e.g.: Hetty died because she had a stroke.
Although she was rich, Hetty didn’t own a house.
The Infinitive Инфинитив
Инфинитив (неопределенная форма глагола) представляет собой неличную глагольную форму, которая только называет действие, не указывая ни лица, ни числа. Инфинитив отвечает на вопросы что делать? что сделать?: to read читать, прочесть, to write писать, написать, to buy покупать, купить, to sell продавать, продать и т.д.
Формальным признаком инфинитива является частица to, которая не имеет самостоятельного значения и не принимает ударения. Однако частица to перед инфинитивом часто опускается. Инфинитив употребляется без частицы to – после модальных глаголов must, can (could), may(might)
e.g.: You must do it at once - Вы должны сделать это немедленно.
He can speak German - Он умеет говорить по-немецки.
- после глаголов to make заставлять, to let позволять, to help помогать (особенно часто в американском варианте английского языка)
e.g.: He made me read that book. – Он заставил меня прочесть ту книгу.
I let him go there. - Я позволил ему туда пойти.
- в обороте «объектный падеж с инфинитивом» после глаголов восприятия: to see видеть, to watch наблюдать, to hear слышать, to feel чувствовать и некоторых других:
e.g.: I saw her leave the room. – Я видел, как она вышла из комнаты.
