  1. Переведите текст “English Lunch”, обращая внимание на употребление глаголов to be, to have.

  2. Переделайте первое предложение в вопросительное и отрицательное:

English Lunch.

The English generally have lunch at one o’clock. At lunch time London cafés and restaurants serve mutton chops, cold meat, fish and chips, salad and pickles. Beefsteak and roast beef are the most popular meat dishes. They are garnished by roast potatoes or potatoes done in their jackets, cabbage or carrots and Yorkshire pudding. Some people like a glass of light beer with their lunch.

Then comes a dessert. Apple pie with hot custard is a favourite sweet. There are various types of pudding.

English Dinner and Supper

In some houses dinner is the biggest meal of the day. Dinner time throughout England is around 7 o’clock in the evening. People are often invited for dinner to their friends. Dinner usually consists of three courses. First comes soup, the second course is meat or fish, then comes a sweet. But in simpler English homes the midday meal is the chief, and in the evening they have a much simpler supper – an omelette, or sausages, sometimes bacon and eggs, or just bread and cheese and a glass of juice.
