Public Catering in Perm
Nowadays Perm is a big city with the population about one million people. The system of public catering in Perm has a great deal to offer its citizens. In the city there are many restaurants, snack bars, cafés and canteens where people can try Russian and Ural dishes as well as different cuisines of the world – Chinese, Mexican, Italian and others. There is a wide choice of dishes to meet any taste - sophisticated or simple. A lot of foreign guests visit our city every year, they highly appreciate Russian cuisine and say that high quality service and cooking in restaurants are worth praising.
Students of the College at the University of Trade and Economics are engaged in practical work at enterprises of public catering in Perm – at restaurants, cafés, bars, canteens. They work as cooks and waiters and gain their first experience in cooking, service, decorating dishes and tables. Here are the descriptions of some of the Perm restaurants where students had their practical work and examples of menus.

The Restaurant “PRIKAMYE”
“Prikamye” is one of the oldest restaurants in Perm. It is situated in the centre of the city at the cross of Komsomolsky avenue and Kirov street, on the ground floor of the hotel “Prikamye”. The restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on week days. The name of the restaurant is written in green letters over the entrance with a porch and steps. When you come into the hall you can see a cloak-room on the right and large mirrors on the left. There are three dining halls, two of them are very large – for 100 and 50 persons, another hall is for 15 persons. It’s a little bit dark in the halls that creates an atmosphere of privacy. This restaurant is famous for the traditional Russian cuisine and excellent service. You are served by waiters who are real specialists in their business.
