11 The Future Simple Tense Простое будущее время.

Употребление:

1. Для обозначения действий, которые произойдут в будущем с такими глаголами как: think, expect, believe, be sure, be afraid …и с наречиями: perhaps, certainly, probably…I think it will rain today

2. Когда мы принимаем спонтанные решения.

I am thirsty, I’ll have a glass of water.

3. Когда речь идет об обещаниях, надеждах, угрозах, предупреждениях и тп. С глаголами hope, promise …

I hope the temperature will drop soon.

+ I, we, you, he, she, it, they will (‘ll) work

- I, we, you, he, she, it, they will not (won’t) work

В письменной речи наряду со вспомогательным глаголом будущего времени will употребляется глагол shall для местоимений I, We.

Характерные наречия и словосочетания: Tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, next week, year, Monday, winter, tonight, soon, in a week, day.

В сложноподчиненных предложениях с условными придаточными после слов: если if , когда when , как только as soon as , до тех пор пока till (until), после after, прежде before в английском языке вместо простого будущего времени используется простое настоящее.

If you run fast, you will win the race. I’ll phone you when I come home. Linda won’t go to the party if Connie doesn’t come with her.

12 The Past Continuous Tense Прошедшее продолженное время.

Употребление:

1.Для обозначения времени, которое происходило в определенный момент в прошлом.

At 9 o’ clock last night we were watching TV.

2.Для обозначения действия, которое находилось в процессе и было прервано другим действием.

Действие в процессе – Past Continuous, а менее продолжительное действие – Past Simple

She was cooking when the doorbell rang.

3.Для обозначения двух и более действий, которые происходили одновременно.

David was reading a newspaper while Mary was playing on the computer.

Was/were + Ving

Характерные наречия и словосочетания: When, while, as, all day, night, morning.

+ The sun was shining. + The birds were singing.

- The sun wasn’t shining - The birds weren’t singing

? Was the sun shining? ? Were the birds singing?
