Past Simple -Used to show a completed action

The traffic was bad yesterday.

I saw him this morning.

They went to the beach last Saturday.

We use did in past simple negatives and questions. Use the infinitive after did/didn`t.

Structure of past simple

I didn't (did not) arrive. You didn't (did not) arrive. He/she/it didn't arrive. We didn't arrive. They didn't arrive.
