Transport and tourism
The transport and tourism is an underestimated industry in terms of economic importance and of its capacity to generate employment.
The transport and tourism is the vast, complex network of business engaged in the lodging, transportation, feeding and entertainment of the travel. This definition includes hotels and others lodging places, the transportation services, restaurants and other eating and drinking establishments and recreational and cultural services.
Transport and tourism is the largest employer in a number of countries as one out of every 16 workers in the world is employed in this trade.
International tourism, catering for people who travel to and stay in countries from which they do not originate, is often considered even more important than domestic tourism, because international travellers are said to spend more and stay longer at their destination, and because they bring in foreign currency.
Some people travel on business, some in search of health. Many people travel “for pleasure”, because we often get tiered of the same surroundings and daily routine, and some relaxation is essential to restore our mental and physical resources. And it is by means of travelling that you get to that place.
The most popular kinds of travelling are travel by train, travel by plan, travel by ship, and travelling by car.
As for me I’m fond of travelling by train. With a train you have speed, comfort and pleasure combined. From the comfortable seat of railway carriage you have a splendid view of the whole countryside. If you are hungry, you can have a meal in the dinning-car, and if the journey is long one you can have a wonderful bed in a sleeper.
