English is losing its political and cultural associations and becoming the property of all cultures. English is an international language. Over 70 countries in the world use English as the official or semi-official language, and in 20 more English occupies an important position. It is the main foreign language taught within most school systems worldwide, many newspapers are published in English and it is the language of much radio and television broadcasting. English is the language of international business, the main language of airports, air traffic control and international shipping. It is the language of science, technology and medicine, and it is estimated that two-thirds of all scientific papers today are first published in English. It is the language of diplomacy and sport. If you know English you can travel any place because it is easy to find a person speaking English anywhere. It opens many doors before you. You can read books in the original, watch foreign films and programmes, you can use it in your work.

I usually start my day with getting up and doing all things that everybody does in the morning: washing, having breakfast, etc. Also, I got used to gather my learning tools: pencils, exercise-books, text-books in the morning. Then I usually go to the college. And soon the lectures and lessons begin... I like studying at college more than at school. After the lessons I usually return home where I have dinner and start thinking about my ways of spending the rest of the day. Very often I go to my friend’s places. The world is full of enjoyable things to do. On returning home I usually start doing my homework. Having finished it, I open a book and read it or watch TV. At last, I go to the bed. When I have my day off I usually spend it with my family or go out with my friends.

And the best way to be healthy is to go in for sports. Sport is very important in our life. Millions of people all over the world go in for sports. There are many different kinds of sports in the world. The most popular are football, Volleyball, figure skating, swimming. I think there is not a single person who has never done any exercises. At the present time many men and women visit gyms. Aerobics and shaping are especially popular among teenagers and middle ages women.

Sport plays a very important role for the British and Ukrainians. The national sports of Great Britain are: football, golf, tennis, tennis, racing and darts. The Ukrainians especially like football. I think that going in for sports is very useful for health. But if you want to live a long and healthy life sport is not enough. You should also keep a healthy diet and forget about smoking and drinking.
