At the Doctor's

---------------

This autumn I suddenly fell ill. My temperature was high and I felt bad, I sneezed and had a sore throat. Besides, I complained of a splitting headache and had a bad cough and pain in my limbs. My mother called in our district doctor. In a few hours the doctor came to the call. When the doctor came, she asked me about my complaints. Then she asked me to strip to the waist. She examined me, listen to my heart and lungs, felt my pulse and took my temperature. My temperature was 38oC. The doctor diagnosed the grippe and told me to stay in bed /to keep my bed/ for some days. Then she wrote out a prescription for some drugs (pills, powders, drops, mixtures, etc.) Besides, the doctor prescribed cups and mustard plasters, as well as a hot water bottle to the feet. She told me to drink hot tea with raspberry jam to keep fever down. Next the doctor wrote out a slip for X-ray and blood examination. The prescription was made up at the chemist's. I followed the prescribed treatment, took the medicine three times a day and was cupped. In a week I felt much better. I went to the polyclinic for a check-up. There I was X-rayed and had my blood tested. I was on a sick-leave for ten days and recovered without any complications.
