Introduction
The end of school is the start of our independent life. It is necessary to choose the right road in life which will help us best to live and work for own good and for the benefit of our country.
Many broad ways will open before the pupils when they leave a secondary school. Everybody will have a chance to develop and use knowledge and education received during the school years.
There are a lot of different trades and professions, and each one must choose the occupation in which he or she can best develop one's own talent and abilities. Our society needs well-educated people. Nowadays the profession of manager has become one the most useful, modern and interesting. There is a place for manager at every plant and factory. A manager is an actual administrator. А person with an manager's diploma may establish his own business, or he may become a partner of a joint venture.
That is because contracts between our country and many countries of the world are becoming wider with every coming day. Every manager has a chance to go abroad or to deal with foreign businessmen coming to our country. But to become a good manager one must work hard and get not only theoretical knowledge but also great practical skills.
1. Management
Management in all business and organizational activities is the act of getting people together to accomplish desired goals and objectives using available resources efficiently and effectively. Management comprises planning, organizing, motivation, and controlling an organization (a group of one or more people or entities) or effort for the purpose of accomplishing a goal. Resourcing encompasses the deployment and manipulation of human resources, financial resources, technological resources, and natural resources.
Since organizations can be viewed as systems, management can also be defined as human action, including design, to facilitate the production of useful outcomes from a system. This view opens the opportunity to 'manage' oneself, a prerequisite to attempting to manage others.
1.1. Basic functions
Management operates through various functions, often classified as planning, organizing, directing, controlling and motivation.
Planning: Deciding what needs to happen in the future (today, next week, next month, next year, over the next five years, etc.) and generating plans for action.
Organizing: pattern of relationships among workers, making optimum use of the resources required to enable the successful carrying out of plans.
Directing: Determining what must be done in a situation and getting people to do it.
Controlling: Checking progress against plans.
Motivation: Motivation is also a kind of basic function of management, because without motivation, employees cannot work effectively. If motivation does not take place in an organization, then employees may not contribute to the other functions (which are usually set by top-level management).
