Preface

Snowboarding attracts new and new fans everyday. This activity emphasizes the rider’s experience and elegant style than high speed. If skilled instructor coaches the beginner, he is able to learn fundaments in three days.

Snowboarding doesn’t present just short-term excess. In Japan or in the US, the ratio of skiers to snowboarders presents fifty to fifty per cent. Ride on snowboard is not difficult to lean no matter how old and in what physical you are. You only must get over frequent falling in first couple days.

These guidelines should provide methodic material to instructors and teachers focused on snowboarding. Information about terminology, methodic procedures and advices has been developed during long practical experience with teaching beginners as well as future instructors. Notes and advices of professionals snowboard instructors have helped significantly to compile these guidelines.

The preparation for theoretical and practical part of lectures itself starts long time before you put on the board. It must include physical preparation on bare ground. These exercises support and increase learning results and minimize inquires.

Goofy - right foot in front

There is a simple test to choose the stance. Go to a snowy, icy or slippery spot, take a run and slide. If you slide with your left foot forward then you are regular. Otherwise you are goofy.
