Networking
Online networking websites, such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, are increasingly becoming the most popular means of instant and detailed communication. These sites allow registered users to communication with friends, family and clients from moment to moment. You can add images, update your status (telling everyone what you're doing this very moment), start a fan page for your business, write notes, send personal messages, and more. The idea is to allow users the opportunity to connect with everyone they know, even if they are hundreds of miles apart.
Technology is Convenient, But don't Ignore the Personal Touches
Though we are happy to observe a hitherto unseen breakthrough in communication technologies, people still need physical presence and sincere thoughts. Though the computer can make your message fast, it can't make it meaningful. An email may be quicker than a handwritten note, but when sending a thank you to an interviewer, the handwritten note will be better received. It may be convenient to write on a coworker's social media page to express condolences over the loss of a loved one, but a phone call or a personal visit and a hug will mean much more. Business is built on relationships, and sometimes the best way to strengthen those relationships cannot be found in cyberspace.
2. Prepare to give definitions or describe different means of communication. Let your group mates guess what means of communication you are speaking about.
3. Explain why it is important to keep personal touch with people.
