10. You're a personnel manager of some company. You have got one vacancy but 2 equally-qualified candidates: a male and a female. Whom will you choose? Explain your choice.

Men and women do the same things differently; they achieve their aims by different ways. So I'll try to compare women and a man's working style. So, the male approach to business is competitive, direct and confrontational, while the female method is collaborative. What concerns tackling problems, the male approach is to go to the heart of the problem, without taking into account secondary considerations, whereas the female preference is to look at various options. Men like to talk about their personal experiences and achievements or discuss topics such as cars or sport, while women tend to talk about staff problems and personnel matters. Men find it easy to tell others about their successes, and women tend to share or pass on the credit for a success. So I want to conclude that it doesn't matter for me, who will work with me, but nevertheless I'll prefer a woman.

11. You want to make Christmas presents to the members of your family. Speak about goods different shops can offer. Which ones would you choose? Give reasons for your choice.

There are many shops in Minsk, and each of them has something special, something unique. Some shops can offer white goods, some offer electronics, some clothes, some mementos and so forth. I want to stop and describe shops that sell mementos.

13. Take some products and speak of their USPs. Which one would you consider while shopping? Why?

USPs - unique selling points are the things that make a product special and different from other similar products. Let's examine such product as CD-player, no battery solar watch and Dyson vacuum cleaner. USPs of CD-player are its compactness, good design and its power consumption is very small, because this CD-player needs only 2 small batteries, it has big programmable memory and random play. What concerns no battery solar watch it is one of the models of modem production using solar energy it can be used for a very long period, if it threats carefully, of course it costs very much, but to my mind price says about it reliability. Dyson vacuum cleaner has innovative stylish, reliable and at the same time it works very well. It helps people in battle with dust and at the same time it can bring satisfaction to its owner. (2) For nearly every kind of product there are many similar goods in the market. The USPs of a product are the things that make it special and differing from other similar products. While shopping I meet a wide range of products. But I have to buy only one from plenty of similar goods. So how do I choose the product I need? What things do I pay attention to when I stay behind the counter and thinking of my further buying? For instance when I was going to buy a camera I was looking mainly at its functionality. The quantity of pixels played a great role. Then a very important part was an optical zoom to take a photo from long distance. What else? There were plenty of things: video shooting, memory and many others. So I bought a camera with a great USP the best lenses of all cameras in that price range. I have made my choise successfully and I don't regret about buying my camera although it took a lot of time.

14. Compare the history of 2-3 famous companies. What is common? In what do they differ? Which of the companies would you like to work for and why? I want to compare 2 companies such as Ford and Mark and Spencer. In the spring of 1896 engineer Henry Ford built his first horseless carriage, in 1903 Ford formed the Ford motor company, in 1911 Ford's first assembly plant, in 1931 the first model AA truck rolled off the line. Now I'll tell some words about M&S. In 1894 Michael Marks and Tom Spencer formed a partnership, in 1928 they registered the St Michael trademark, in 1930 the company opened the Marble Arch store on Oxford Street in London, and in 1931 they introduced canned goods such as tomato soup. Their stores are in Paris, Brussel, Hong Kong and London; in 1997 they won the queen's award for Export Achievement for the fifth time. So, as for me I would like to work for Ford, because I'm fond of cars and I'll enjoy my work very much.

15. Speak on the main reasons people don't like shopping. What can retailers do about these problems in your opinion? Do you like shopping?

As for me I like shopping because I can't imagine my life without goods. But at the same I as everybody don't like it, because of a lot of facts. The first reason that people don't like shopping is staying in queues. I absolutely agree with this statement because in shop we must buy what we really need and we mustn't waste our precious time, the retailer must place much more checkout counters or something like that, because it is the main problem of shopping. people don't like shoping because of queues. The next main reason is crowds. It is awful when you try to choise something at the shop while a crowd of people trying to do the same, they become arguing and it is bad. To solve this problem retailer must install more counters and I think there everything will be all right. The next reason is finding products. Of course if a shop is very big it is difficult to find necessary thing. The solution of this problem is to invent a lot of signs (СЙЮГЮРЕКЭ). The next point is parking. I think if a retailer has a big shop he must think of places for cars. Next I'll itemize all points because they are not main they are only exist. The fifth is not enough time, next is carrying it, next is inconvenient opening hours, next is cost and the last is packing and unpacking goods.
