Let’s play a memory game. I say one musical instrument- cello. The first pupil has to repeat it and add other musical instrument- cello, piano. The second pupil has to repeat the 1^st and the 2^nd words and add other musical instrument- cello, piano, guitar… Read them all together once more.

T: - All these musical instruments are belonged to the orchestra.

T: - Listen to the cassette and try to guess what musical instrument is it?

What musical instrument have you heard? Look at the slide. It is a bandore.

It belongs to strings musical instruments. Bandore is a national Ukrainian

instrument. It has a long history. In ancient times some people traveled from

place to place and played bandore.

T: - Look at our word- map. Can you fill in the second column of it- musical

instruments? Go to the blackboard one by one and write down them into the

second column.

VI. Speaking

T: - We’ve filled in the 1^st and the 2^nd columns of our word- map: types of music

and musical instruments. You have to fill in the last column of it- people.

Look at the slide, how is called a person who plays bandore? (Bandores).

There are many musical professions in the world. For example, how is called a

person who conducts the orchestra? (Conductor). How is called a person who

sings the songs? (Singer). How is called a person who writes music?

(Composer). How is called a person who plays a musical instrument?

(Musician). But there are many others professions in the world of music.

Open your books at page 72 and find there ex. 3. Here you can see a table

which consists of two columns: instruments and people. Complete it in your

exercise- books. Use the words from the box.

Let’s check your answers. Name the instruments and a person.

T: - You’ve mentioned about singers and musicians. You know that singer may

sing solo but also in a group. What famous Ukrainian and foreign singers and
