The conclusion
Summing up all this we should note that the diagnostic methods described in this book were created, were selected and were modified on the basis of the theoretical rules and principles of a person’s system diagnostics. The appropriate diagnostic equipment was also created on the same basis.
Life has proved the scientific and practical value of this work. In particular:
The realization of the principle of sufficiency allowed to create a device which is capable of diagnosing the characteristics of all the levels of a person’s hierarchical structure.
The realization of conformity principle has caused the validity, reliability and ecological cleanliness of the diagnostic methods.
The realization of universality has allowed to use more than 50 instrumental and many non-instrumental methods with the help of one device, and the realization of portativity principle has caused its autonomy, compactness and small weight (2,5 kg).
The realization of continuum principle enabled to present the results of any investigation as a point on a continuum of diagnosed characteristics, and the principle of comparison of the results.
The realization of modelling principle gave the opportunity to diagnose the characteristics which become apparent in extreme situation, without injuring influences on the examinee (due to the use of a model of extreme situation).
The realization of availability principle caused the simplicity of the use of the methods and the device, its accessible price, the opportunity of its use in field conditions.
As a result we have managed to create a device which meets real diagnostic requirements of a practical psychologist and which occupies an important place in Russian practical psychology by number of maintained devices, as well by range of their distribution.
A person’s traditional diagnostics is different. There are dozens of different concepts and tendencies (trends). We think that the system diagnostics as a concrete realization of system approach will help to overcome an excessive variety of opinions and diagnostic concepts, will serve as a means of theoretical and practical unification of psychological, medical, pedagogical, sociological researches.
This book doesn’t include all the techniques which can be performed with the help of the device ATS-6. First of all, we haven’t described the use of this device as a detector of lie. This technique is supposed to be used only by specialists making investigations, but it shouldn’t be used by school or sports psychologists.
Secondly we haven’t described the techniques which are created by some of the users of ATS-6 and which are considered to be their intellectual property. These techniques can be printed (issued) only with the consent of their authors. That’s why we invite all numerous users of “Activationmeter” device to co-operate with us. We’ll be thankful to you for any information and your wishes directed on the further development of a problem of a person’s system diagnostics and also on the expansion of diagnostic opportunities and the quality of diagnostic techniques performed by the device “Activationmeter”. At the present moment experimental “Activationmeter” devices of ATS-9K model is being finished. This device has all the diagnostic abilities of ATS-6 device and besides it has 4 extra diagnostic facilities and an opportunity to work in contact with personal computer. It is equipped with powerful program maintenance providing:
the accumulation of databank;
automatized working up of the results of hardware methods of the diagnostics and listing of the results;
the realization of extra computer techniques;
the use of standard questionnaires with the help of universal diagnostic scale.
The manual of a person’s system diagnostics made with the help of device “Activationmeter” of ATS-9K model is being prepared for publishing, we can take into account the readers’ and specialists’ wishes.
