6.3.3. The interpretation of the results and making a diagnosis

6.3.3.1. The quantity of scatter of the mistakes made by the examinee, inversely proportional to the level of his stability.

6.3.3.2. The scatter of the mistakes made in calm conditions (due to the figures of column 6, table 19) indicates to the level of stability in usual conditions.

6.3.3.3. The scatter of the mistakes made in extreme situation (due to the figurers of column 11) indicates to the level of stability in extreme situation.

6.3.4.Some possible ways of practical usage of the results of the diagnostics

6.3.4.1. Background stability, which becomes apparent in usual conditions, is a main quality for almost all professions. That’s why its diagnostics is necessary in the process of personnel selection.

6.3.4.2. Stability in extreme situations is a necessary quality for professions connected with extreme situations (special subdivisions of armed forces, aviation, cosmonautics, life-saving service, firemen and others). That’s why its diagnostics is necessary while selecting employees into these spheres.

6.3.4.3. In the process of professional training the diagnostics of stability should be used to create an inverse connection during its formation.

6.3.4.4. Besides, stability in extreme situations ought to be used while selecting people to work in such spheres of activity which are connected with extreme situations (groups of seizure, drivers of high speed cars, corresponding kinds of sports, etc.)

Chapter VII the diagnostics of socio-psycological and social characteristics

Socio-psychological characteristics are such characteristics which provide a person’s intercourse and contact with other people: leadership, democratism, liberalism, autocracy and others. Socio-psychological characteristics are especially important in a “person-person” activity (for example, in the profession of a teacher, a manager, an actor, a shop-assistant, etc.).

Social characteristics are connected with a person’s world outlook. They cause a person’s attitude to the state, government, society, social position of people, etc.

Since socio-psychological and social characteristics take up top hierarchical levels of a person’s characteristics structure, they play a very important role in the life and activity of any person. If the person fails to solve the tasks at these levels or solves them incorrectly, he will not succeed in solving the tasks at lower hierarchical levels.

§1. The diagnostics made with the help of a universal diagnostic scale

7.1.1. General description

According to the principles of system diagnostics, described earlier, socio-psychological and social characteristics are diagnosed using methods of questionnaires, expert estimations and self-appraisal (Y.A.Tsagarelly, 2000). It has already been mentioned that the traditional use of these methods has, from the point of view of the system diagnostics, its own disadvantages. That’s why we suggest a theoretically substantiated, improved way of their usage. It is a universal diagnostic scale which is realized in the form of the apparatus ATS-6, one of the diagnostic devices.

Let’s look through the methods of the diagnostics of socio-psychological and social characteristics with the help of a universal diagnostic scale.
