Restoration of British economy after the Second World War lasted for almost forty years. The eighties became witnesses of large-scale privatization of the state enterprises which were nationalized. The average level of life, though still remained divisions into more succeeding territories of the southeast part of the country, including London, and less rich territories of the West and the North, also rose. The rates of unemployment and inflation were gradually reduced, but remained high enough.

Among the main trends of Britain's industry are the decline in the heavy industry, the growth of the offshore oil and gas industry, the rapid development of the electronic industry, the continual rise in the service industries. British industries can be divided into three main groups: primary industries, manufacturing industries, service industries.

The American economy is a dynamic, free-market system that is constantly evolving out of the choices and decisions made by millions of citizens who play multiple, often overlapping roles as consumers, producers, investors and voters. The United States is generally described as a mixed economy, which is to say that even though the great majority of productive resources are privately owned, the federal government does play an important part in the marketplace.

The USA is a highly developed industrialized country. It is rich in natural and mineral resources. It produces copper, oil, iron ore and coal. The USA has very powerful industries, advanced technologies and science. Electronic and electric engineering, transport, communication and machine-tool industries can be found almost in all the large cities of the USA. The rapid economic development following the Civil War laid the groundwork for the modern U.S. industrial economy. The explosion of new discoveries and inventions took place, causing such profound changes that some termed the results a "second industrial revolution."
