1. Прочитати та перекласти текст: Cuba. Outline itinerary.

Day 1

Depart London mid-morning Tuesday on VIASA via Caracas. Arrival late evening in Havana. Direct to the Hotel Plaza, opposite Central Park in Old Havana, the area famed for its Spanish Days.

Days 2 – 3

Explore Havana. Visit to a handicraft centre and the Guanabacoa museum in the outskirts, which has rooms dedicated to the influence of African cultures on Cuba. Free time to wander the streets and appreciate the city’s fine architecture. Visit to the Museum of revolution, the old fort and the cathedral.

Day 4

Visit to a cigar factory. Transfer to the airport for flight to Santiago de Cuba in the east coast of the island, famed for its buildings and beautiful settings. Overnight stay in Las Americas hotel.

Day 5

City tour, including the Moncada barracks which Fidel Castro and a group of followers failed to storm in 1953 in early abortive attempt to seize power. Good museums in Santiago include the Casa Velasquez dating back to the 16^th century and the Museo Bacardi. (Optional).

Day 6

Excursion to the Basilica El Cobre, a village 18 mile north-west of Santiago. Transfer to airport and return to Havana. Accommodation in the Plaza Hotel.

Day 7

Return home.

The ideal applicant must be literate, accurate and articulate and have a real appetite for hard work.
