III.Translate from Russian into English
1. Если золотые деньги выполняли много функций, то бумажным деньгам под силу только одна функция — ‘средства обращения’, когда ими оплачиваются текущие сделки.
2. В каждой стране установлена основная денежная единица (рубль, доллар, франк и т. д.).
3. Каждое государство утверждает законные платежные средства (банкноты и монеты), которые обязательны для приема в качестве средств оплаты на территории данного государства.
4. Деньги выполняют три функции: средства обращения (платежа) товаров и услуг, средства измерения ценности реализуемых благ, средства накопления.
5. В условиях дефицита бартерная сделка может оказаться эффективнее для отдельных партнеров, но для экономики в целом она просто губительна.
6. Денежное накопление — жизненно необходимая для рыночной экономики функция денег.
7. Ценность денег как средств платежа состоит в их всеобщей покупательной способности: мы ценим деньги потому, что ими можно оплатить любую покупку.
8. Деньги как “запасаемый товар” люди приобретают для того, чтобы располагать ими, обладать, а не расходовать.
9. Денежный запас создается тогда, когда хранение денег оказывается более выгодным, чем их расходование.
10. Деньги — средство обращения, так как с помощью денег товар от продавца переходит к покупателю.
11. Деньги и кредит способствуют развитию экономики, повышению ее эффективности.
12. Денежная масса, необходимая для обращения товаров, включает не только бумажные деньги (‘банкноты’) и разменную монету, но и безналичные чековые вклады и так называемые ‘почти деньги’ (срочные вклады и облигации).
13. Резервная норма — часть банковских депозитов в центральном банке. Это своеобразный неприкосновенный запас денежных средств, который коммерческие банки не имеют права использовать для осуществления своих операций.
14. В случае банкротства банков обязательные резервы используются для погашения их долговых обязательств перед вкладчиками.
