The United States covers the entire midsection of North America. These rivers are the Connecticut, the Hudson, the Delaware, the Potomac, and others. The Great Lakes – Superior, Huron, Michigan, Erie, and Ontario – are the largest lakes of the United States. Of the five, only Lake Michigan lies entirely within the United States. In the dry regions of the West are many salt lakes, of which the Great Salt Lake, in Utah, is the largest.
