Grammar study: a) Participle I as adverbial modifier of time
Причастие I или причастие настоящего времени в функции обстоятельства времени употребляется с временными союзами when – когда и while – в то время как, пока. При переводе на русский язык союзы опускаются, а причастие переводится двумя способами:
1) русским деепричастием;
2) фразой с предлогом «при».
Sample: When adjusting machine-tool it is necessary to follow specification. – При настройке станка нужно следовать техническим указаниям. Или: Настраивая станок, нужно следовать техническим указаниям.
