Minsk, the capital of B, is located in the center of the country. Today it is a modern international city. The first recorded mention of Minsk goes back to 1067. Over the course of its history, M has been destroyed and rebuilt numerous times, most recently after World War II, when it was almost completely destroyed. More than 1,8 million people live in Minsk today. It has excellent transport links including M airport, several major train stations, the M metro underground network, and a well-developed road system.

Great Britain

GB, the official name – the United Kingdom of GB and Northen Ireland, is situated on two large islands and over 500 small ones. The total area of GB is 240000 sq km-s, its population is 56 mln people. In the North-West and West the country is washed by the Atlantic Ocean and the Irish sea, in the East – by the North Sea.

The island of GB is divided into 2 parts: mountainous and lowland. There are no very long rivers in GB. The most important rivers are the Thames and the Severn.

Due to the moderating influence of the sea GB has an insular (замкнутый) climate, rather humid (влажый) and mild, without striking discrepancy between seasons. USA

The US lies in the central part of the North American continent between 2 oceans: the Atlantic Ocean to the East and the Pacific Ocean to the West. Canada to the North and Mexico to the South are the only countries bordering it.

Because of such a huge size of the country the climate differs from one part of the country to another. The USA has 8 climate regions. The coldest climate is in the Northen part. The South has a subtropical climate.

For many decades the USA has been the place where lots of people sought refugee from persecution for political or religious beliefs. That’s why in America there are representatives of practically all racial and national groups.

The United States of America is a parliamentary republic. The government is divided into three branches: legislative, executive and judicial. There are two main political parties in the USA: the Democratic and the Republican. The US President is both head of state and government. He is elected for a four-year term.
