Before I start talking about my family let me introduce myself. I am Oleh Brovko. I’m 18 now. I was born on the 25^th of July, 1990 in Ostrig, so I have been living in Ostrig since my childhood. This year I’ve left secondary school, went through the independent testing rather successfully and I was lucky enough to enter the National University in Rivne. Thus, I’m a first-year student of Mechanical and Heat-Power Engineering Faculty and my major field of study is Automobile Engineering. I decided to follow my father’s steps who graduated from this University.

And now I am going to tell you about my family. We are a family of five, my parents have two more children besides me. My parents are very caring and affectionate. They have been married for twenty years. They have much in common and the same opinion about our education and upbringing, but they have different views on music, books, films and sports. My father, Sergiy Petrovych, is 45. He works as a chief engineer at a maintenance shop. He is a handsome man, rather thin with dark brown hair just beginning to go grey. He is a bread-maker in our family and very often he works overtime. He is fond of fishing and gardening.

My mother’s name is Olena Mychaylivna. She is three years younger than my father. She works as a teacher at a nursery school. She is rather slim and pretty, she is always elegant and smart. In short, she is a pleasant-looking woman of about 40. She is busy with her work and all the household chores. Shopping and cooking is nearly half a day’s work for her. But my sister and I are in a habit of helping her about the house.

Svitlana is my elder sister. She is four years senior to me. She is also a student of this University but she studies at correspondence department of the faculty of Economics and Entrepreneuship. She is already married and has a little daughter, my niece. It is a lovely one-year-old girl with golden hair and dark brown eyes.

My brother Andriy is the youngest in our family. He is only ten. He is very sensitive and shy but sometimes too stubborn. He is a pupil of the 4^th form and he is doing well at school.

We also have grandparents who are retired on pension and live in the country with attractive scenery. So on week-ends we like visiting them.

And finally a few words about myself. I am an ordinary person, not a loner but I don’t like noisy crowd. Now, living far from my family, I try to make friends with my groupmates and other fellow students. Usually these are people with common interests. As for me, I enjoy swimming and regular sport exercises as I like to keep myself fit.

In school I made much progress in exact sciences. That’s why I applied to the National University of Water Management and Natural Resources Use to specialize in the branch of mining engineering. I’m doing my best to be a good student and a qualified specialist in future.
