Laboratory work №2

The aim of the work is to investigate the electrical characteristics of the AC contactor.

The used equipment:

  • the Magnetic Starter module

  • the Stopwatch and Lighting Fixture module

  • the Autotransformer module, the power module

  • the Measuring Module

  • the connecting conductors

The order of performance of the laboratory work

1) Study the theoretical material sufficient to perform laboratory work. Answer control questions and get the teacher's admission to perform laboratory work

2) According to the scheme, make electrical connections of the modules for studying the contactor type KMI-10910 9A-24V c.

Operation procedure: set the minimum output voltage of the autotransformer by turning the adjustment knob counter-clockwise until it stops. Turn on the circuit breaker and the differential current switch "Network" of the module "Power module".

3) Change the ammeter TIM to the ammeter PA1 of the module "Measuring module". Decreasing the output voltage of the autotransformer TV2 from 24 V until the moment of releasing the armature of the KMl contactor, the voltmeter PV1 (Uo) and the ammeter RAZ (Io) at which the contactor armature was released, put in the table

4) To avoid overheating of the contactor, do not allow long work with the armature not retracted, and also it is necessary to pause (2 min.) Between the experiments. Run the experiment at least 5 times.

5) After drafting a draft copy and checking the results, the teacher needs to disassemble the scheme to provide the complete set and serviceability to the instructor or lab assistant

Conclusion

By carrying out this laboratory work we have become acquainted with the principle of the operation of the determination of the characteristics of a alternating current contactor and how it works. Also we acquainted the theoretical information about contactors and done our laboratory work on the laboratory stand.

At the end of the work we measured all quantities and write down it to our table.
