The body of a 45-year-old man was found late last night outside a local bar. Police suspect foul play. The man was identified as Robert Hilton of Atlanta, GA. Hilton had been vacationing in South Starkville with his family since last week. Linda Sanders, a server at the bar, said she saw Hilton arguing with another man, but that the men left the bar separately.
Police have not found a murder weapon, and the body was apparently not discovered for several hours. “The corpse is in the morgue, and we will be conducting a detailed autopsy later today,” said Thomas Ford. Starkville County Coroner. “At this point, I can’t tell you the exact cause of death, but I can say that the victim had multiple stab wounds and also appeared to have been bludgeoned with some type of blunt object.”
