4.Read the text and be ready to do the tasks based on it.

I think that free time is a precious thing for most of us. When we’re working hard, it’s nice to imagine what we’ll do when the weekend comes. We think of ideas trying to decide what best suits our budget and the amount of time we have.

It’s good to plan what we’re going to do with our free time. That way we won’t waste any of it trying to decide. It’s so easy to just sit around and think about this or that activity. Before we know that, half the day is gone. If we decide ahead of time, we can get started in plenty of time, and we can get the most benefit out of the time we have. Or if we‘re going to a movie, we can find out the time and how long it’ll take us to get there. Also, if we plan what we’re going to do with our free time, we can invite others to join us. If we wait until the last minute, our friends may have other plans.

On the other hand, it’s also fun to do things without a plan. We can just leave the house and walk around and see what catches our attention. We might end up doing something we never thought we’d try. We might just happen to find ourselves outside a new bookstore ar a bowling alley and go in on a whim, because we have some free time.

25

It’s nice if we can have the best of both worlds. We can plan our free time activities for one day of the weekend, and let the other day plan itself. This way our free time also gives us the enjoyment of having it both ways.

5.Answer these questions using information from the text.

1) When we are thinking about our future plans for our free time, what should we consider? 2) Give three reasons why it’s good to plan your free time beforehand. 3) If we want to invite friends to join us, what we’d better do? 4) What can be a fun? 5) What are the two ways to deal with our free time?

6. There are titles for each paragraph of the text. Arrange these titles according to the order they go in it. Remember there are two extra ones.

a) Spontaneous decisions and new findings b) Hobby as relaxation c) A part of the pleasure 4) Planning your free time d) Healthy way of life

e)Combination of planning and spontaneous choice.

7.These sentences were taken from the text. Fill in blanks with a sentence that match the content of a passage. Remember there are two extra sentences.

a) Often, this is how we discover places we never knew existed. b) After all, expecting free time is a part of the pleasure. c) many people like planning all major events of their life. d) Some life events are difficult to predict and we never know anything about them before. e) For instance, if we are going on a picnic, we can get all our supplies ready to go.
