7 - Сomplex units of word-building system: word-building cluster, row, category.

In L works a law of analogy. That’s why we have a lot of suffixes and so on that work in the same way → we need to classify them.

A row (set) is a group of w-s built according to the same pattern & they have identical affix. (For row pattern & affix are the same).

Derivational cluster is a complex unity of w-s with the same root morpheme and because of this they are close in meaning; they are built after a number of patterns, which are different.

e can describe cluster, by their depth → shows degrees of derivations + the number of derivatives in the cluster.

All these w-s have the same root which unites them into a cluster.

Patterns of different kinds but having 1 general meaning can be included into 1 derivational category.

Eg:
