2) Parents blame music and its influence.

One can ask a question: “Why music?” Parents can answer without hesitation: “Mainly because of the lyrics and the messages that are being sung in the songs that kids listen to”. The words and messages in songs are very powerful to young and influential minds. Singing groups that appeal to young people today are very persuasive and influential to them especially if they are perceived to be cool or the latest modern trend that their friends are listening to.

Kids today are just like they were years ago, wanting to fit in and be liked and they wanted to be popular. It is also common for a lot of young kids to be rebellious and these pop stars whether in the rock 'n roll country rap or whatever may tend to have some rebellious undertones in the lyrics of their songs that appeal to young people. Some heavy metal groups sing about suicide, drug abuse, sex and overall general lawlessness not just heavy metal but the various types of music that young people are listening to today. Parents usually don’t approve this habit of headphones-all –day-long but they can do nothing to stop their children without being immersed in may conflicts that will lead to widening the gap.

3) Parents blame videogames

One can say that videogames are not the reason for generation gap because it is parents’ fault that children have an access for the games that parents have bought previously. But today with the emergence of free-to-play (e.g. they’re free!) online games, children are no longer dependent on their parents or other relatives for money to buy these games. All they need is a PC or laptop with an internet connection, and they can play free games all day. Unfortunately parents can’t spend all their time with children because of work, household duties and many other responsibilities and their offspring use this time to become addicted to videogames. This addiction provokes a lot of conflicts and misunderstandings between parents and children and it is one of the reasons of modern generation gap.

Generation gap is children’s fault.

Teenagers can be blamed in some ways. First of all it is their technological skills and inability to be patient because patience and wisdom is a feature of an adult.

1) Children boast of superior technological skills.

The differences between teenagers and parents today are thrown into stark relief by the collective light of smartphones, laptops, tablets, and mp3 players. That’s right: though wondrous and most certainly beneficial, technology can be partly to blame for existing generation gap.

The young are always fiddling effortlessly with some electronic device or other, and (horrible as it sounds) we laugh at some of our parents who have trouble typing out an SMS or figuring out Facebook. Children and teenagers consider things like these to be rudimentary, second nature, and they poke fun at parents who can’t seem to be able do them. In doing so, they belittle their parents and pull away from them, unwilling to converse with someone who “can’t properly use their phone no matter how many times we’ve tried to teach them”.
