If EViews is taking so long to compute something that you’d like it to give up, hit the Esc (Escape) key. EViews will quit what it’s doing and pay attention to you instead.

It is conceivable that you’ve read EViews Illustrated and, nonetheless, may someday need more help. The Help menu has all sorts of goodies for you. Complete electronic versions of the User’s Guide, Command and Programming Reference, and Object Reference are just a

Help menu click away. Quick Help Reference provides quick links to summaries of commands, object properties, etc. EViews Help Topics… leads to extensive, indexed and searchable help on nearly everything in EViews, plus nice explanations of the underlying econometrics. Most of the material in the help system gives the same information found in the manuals, but sometimes it’s easier and faster to find what you’re after in the help system.

Odd Ending

We hope EViews Illustrated has helped, but reading is rarely quite so enlightening as doing. It’s time to click buttons and pull down menus and type stuff in the command pane and generally have fun trying stuff out.
