Section Eight. Maintenance Information
22 Introduction
22.1 This Section of this Defence Standard gives guidance on the compilation, storage, display and exchange of maintenance information.
23 General
23.1 This Section of this Defence Standard provides guidance for the production of DM for both preventive and corrective maintenance procedures. It also shows the content of DM for maintenance schedules and for maintenance resource summaries. The examples at Annexes C, D & E are paper-based, but the information contained therein may be considered for IETP.
24 Preventive Maintenance
24.1The LSA process will identify the requirement for any preventive maintenance procedures needed to ensure that an equipment continues to operate within its design parameters. These procedures are derived from DM whose IC are defined in Section 3 of Part 10 of this Defence Standard.
24.2Annex C shows an example of a preventive maintenance DM
25 Corrective Maintenance
25.1Corrective action for failure modes, normally identified by the Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), will be recorded in the LSAR. These data are used to produce DM containing corrective maintenance actions recorded as a series of pre-conditions and postconditions. These conditions invoke the procedures required to restore the equipment to its serviceable state.
25.2Annex D shows an example of a corrective maintenance DM.
25.3The relationship between DM within a maintenance activity, as derived from the LSA process, is shown in figure 2.
26 Maintenance Management Information
26. Preventive Maintenance Schedules The presentation of preventive maintenance schedules may be in a variety of formats, which should be selectable. These schedules may be listed by: procedure identification, periodicity, monitored condition, operational effects, manhours, etc. Preventive maintenance schedules are generated using the appropriate SNS and IC 285 to identify the preventive maintenance DM.
26.1.1 Annex E shows an example of the content of a preventive maintenance schedule.

DEF STAN 00-60 (PART 11)/3
26.2 Maintenance Resources. The presentation of maintenance resource summaries may be in a variety of formats and should be selectable. These schedules may be listed by: procedure identification, description, periodicity, tools, test equipment, etc. Maintenance resource summaries are generated from preventive maintenance DM, using the appropriate SNS and IC 286, to denote the totals of the various data.
26.2.1 Annex F shows an example of the content of a maintenance resource summary DM listed by description.
