Section Five. Non Textual Information
14 Introduction
14.1 This section of this Defence Standard provides information and guidance and expands on the application of Section 5 of Part 10 of this Defence Standard.
15 Use of Overlays
15.1 Where graphics may be required for different purposes (eg spares, maintenance etc) the basic graphic could be enhanced by the use of overlays to increase understanding and minimise duplication and complexity. For example, language overlays may be used to assist international projects.
16 Callouts
16.1 Callouts on a graphic should be minimised to aid clarity and ease of use.
17 Display of Other Non-Textual Information
17.1. Reference should be made to Section 9 of this Part of this Defence Standard for guidance on display of other Non-Textual Information.
