Section Eight. Maintenance Information
25 Introduction
25.1 This Section of this Defence Standard details the requirements for the supply of DM that describe maintenance actions and the resource requirements in support of those maintenance activities.
26 General
26.1Maintenance shall be detailed as either preventive or corrective maintenance. All maintenance procedures shall be detailed, in accordance with S1000D using data derived from the relevant LSAR tables for specific projects. These procedures shall be identified as either preventive or corrective, by the appropriate IC.
26.2The flow of maintenance activity shall be as defined by the LSA process.
26.3DM containing maintenance schedules and maintenance resource information shall be identified by the appropriate IC.
26.4Preventive and corrective maintenance procedures together with maintenance resource summaries shall be produced as DM in accordance with Chapter 3 of S1000D.
27 Preventive Maintenance
27.1 To provide for operational commitments and in accordance with the project, preventive maintenance procedures shall be produced so that they can be completed at any time during their periodicities. These procedures shall be individual, stand-alone and shall be independent of the completion of any other procedure. It shall be permissible, however, to link procedures to avoid duplication of work.
28 Maintenance Resource
28.1Preventive Maintenance Schedules. For maintenance management purposes DM shall be provided in the form of preventive maintenance schedules detailing preventive maintenance activities planned for stated periodicities.
28.2Maintenance Resource Summaries. For maintenance management purposes maintenance resource DM shall be provided detailing the resource requirements for individual preventive and corrective maintenance procedures. DM, derived from generated data, shall also be provided in the form of preventive maintenance resource summaries. These shall show, in various formats, the complete preventive maintenance resource requirements.
