Hello! Could you help me, please?
Yes, sure. What can I do for you?
I’m looking for a T-shirt.
We’ve got a wide choice of T-shirts. What kind of T-shirt would you like?
I don’t really know. I’d like a cotton one for doing sports. Could you recommend me something special?
Have a look at these T-shirts. They are trendy this season.
Oh, yes, that’s what I’m looking for. What sizes do you have?
We have all sizes now.
OK, I’d like to try a medium one.
Yes, sure. The fitting room is over there.
Oh, it’s cool, but too big for me. Could you give me a smaller one?
How about this T-shirt?
Well, this is just what I wanted.
Yes, it suits you perfectly.
Great! I’ll take it. How much does it cost?
It`s 7 dollars.
OK, it’s not expensive. Can I pay by credit card?
Yes, of course. Here is your receipt. Thank you very much.
Can I change it if something is wrong?
Sure.
1. Thanks a lot. Bye-bye.
4. Read the text about “The way we shop”. Discuss the topic “Fashion Clothes”. The way we shop. The latest shops have cafes, catwalks and even clubs.
Shopping centres have changed the way we shop. One positive aspect of shopping centres is convenience: we can find everything from groceries to electronics, from cosmetics to clothes, under the same roof.
Furthermore, shopping centres offer entertainment facilities, like cinemas or bowling alleys. In addition to this, they are places where you can meet people and socialize in cafes and restaurants. They have become the focus of social life for many teenagers.
In the fashion giant Top Shop in London there’s even a specially-built catwalk for fashion shows and a stage where bands perform. So it’s no surprise that this is the world’s largest fashion store.
Harrods is the world’s most celebrated store in London. It was opened in 1849 and run by Charles Henry Harrod. Today, around 35,000 people visit Harrods every day. It has got 300 departments spread over seven floors and employs 4,000 staff.
Harrods is the official supplier of certain goods to the Royal Family, and sells everything from clothes to caviar. The Food Halls are still the heart and soul of Harrods. In addition to the nineteen bars and restaurants in the store, there is a bank, a travel agent’s, a dry cleaner’s and the biggest hair and beauty salon in Europe.
January and July are very busy months for Harrods because theyare sale times.
The Harrods’ name means the best of British quality, service and style. All in all, Harrods is a fascinating place to visit.
Thus, we see that modern supershops (shopping centres) are transforming shopping into the ultimate pastime.
