1. Introduction
In traditional practices, plants and herbs are considered an indispensable part of human
life [1]. It is used for preserving and treating human health and is considered to have the ca-
pacity to maintain health in a cost-effective manner with fewer complications [2,3]. Our an-
cestors were well aware of the value of Mother Nature and they established a relationship
between nature and health. However, after urbanization, humans have moved away from na-
ture gradually and this natural method of keeping life healthy has started disappearing.
Although the ancient practice of medicine has well-established application of medicinal
plants which comes from the experience due to ease of application and com mercialization
of modern medical system, this well-established practice got very little promotion for long.
One important factor which was considered for neglecting this system of medicine today is
that it somehow does not have very much physiochemical and biological data, especially
for safety and efficacy. A long-term experience of natural practices with plants by humans
is reported from sanctuaries in many ancient pieces of literature worldwide. Indeed, Indian
